Yoga In India
There is something deeply sacred about practicing yoga in India, the motherland, the source. In India, yoga returns to its essence. Here, it is not just a practice, but a way of life, woven into the rhythm of the land, the temples, the chants, the stillness. To roll out your mat in India is to root yourself in ancient wisdom, to feel the lineage of thousands of years beneath your feet. The air carries the echoes of devotion and the energy is unmistakable, humbling, powerful and alive.
On this retreat, the practice is designed to meet you exactly where you are. Whether you are a complete beginner or more advanced, each class is thoughtfully guided to support all levels of experience.
Our mornings will be devoted to energising, awakening practices, moving with the rising sun, strength and clarity for the day ahead. Afternoons will soften into more restorative sessions, inviting you to slow down, integrate and truly receive.
We will practice in some of the most extraordinary settings, beside ancient forts, within temple grounds, in palace courtyards and by tranquil poolsides, each space adding its own unique energy to the experience.
Beyond the physical practice, there will be opportunities to deepen your understanding of yoga through teachings on its history and philosophy, along with pranayama, meditation and other traditional practices that bring the full picture of yoga to life.
This is not just a retreat, it is an immersion into the true essence of yoga, in the place where it all began.

TESTIMONIALS
Going to India was an entirely conscious, indulgent decision for me. I chose to spend my 60th birthday among like-minded yogis, doing exactly what I love, yoga, swimming and exploring. I knew I would feel nourished, supported and free to spend each day as I pleased. What I didn’t anticipate was just how far the splendour of turning 60 would extend.
I knew very little about India, but I trusted that this yoga retreat would be as phenomenal as others I had experienced in Bali and Australia with Georgina Eve, our most gracious host. Once again, her carefully chosen team of guides and drivers were professional, kind and generous, it felt as though we were old friends by day one.
Our accommodations were nothing short of extraordinary: regal hunting lodges from another era, a royal palace whose walls glowed with sunshine and history and marble atriums that felt both opulent and timeless. The food was fresh, delicious and abundant, offering local recipes while catering to every palate.
Each day began and ended with Iyengar yoga in the most breathtaking settings, accompanied by the natural soundtrack of peacocks, distant drums, devotional singing and prayer. Georgie is a true master of class design, weaving together all limbs of yoga in a way that leaves you nourished mentally, physically and spiritually.
The seamless grace with which our itinerary unfolded was a testament to our incredible host. I will never be able to thank her enough for the unforgettable surprise birthday evening she orchestrated, with the help of the entire team at our palace hotel in Nagaur. Fountains shimmered, candles and lights illuminated the ancient architecture and a magnificent table was set in an atrium fit for royalty. The kitchen was brought outdoors, where we were treated to a delicious banquet, accompanied by traditional drumming and singing from the exceptional staff.
Our experiences were as rich as they were diverse: visiting temples and shrines, spotting leopards in the wild, travelling by ox-drawn cart to ancient water wells lit by 3,000 candles, witnessing demonstrations of gemstone carving in marble, block printing and carpet weaving from scratch. We wandered through flower markets, took part in traditional cooking classes and received blessings from a Brahma priest. It was, in every sense, an extraordinary journey, one that concluded with the majestic Taj Mahal.
Georgie ensured we were cared for every step of the way, right through to heartfelt hugs goodbye at the airport from our guide Sanjiv and his trusted driving team.
